Chihuahua dogs fall into the category “Companion and Toy” and the name of the breed comes from the largest state which is used in Mexico, place of origin of these quadrupeds. Helped by stature, Chihuahua dogs can be transported easily and quickly adapts to new places. Although race is a very old Chihuahua dogs have become popular only in the twentieth century.
History
Both local folklore and archaeological discoveries attest that the Chihuahua breed has its origins in Mexico. One of the most accepted theories about the emergence of race say these dogs are descendants Techichi race, favorite pet of the Toltec civilization of Mexico. Historical data show that Techichi hunted in packs and have appeared in the Ninth Century. When the Toltec civilization was conquered by Astec, the latter thought Techichi had mystical powers. If the appearance was similar to the Chihuahua dogs today Techichi were much higher than the modern breed. It is believed that first appeared after Chihuahua Techichi dogs were crossed with small quadrupeds to South America by Spanish conquistadors. Chihuahua has become a very popular breed in the United States, as recognized by the American Kennel Club in 1904.
Appearance
Chihuahua is recognized as one of the world’s smallest dogs and breed standards do not mention a specific height for copies. As a result, the height of these dogs varies much more than other races. A Chihuahua can weigh between 1 and 2.5 kg. The body of a Chihuahua is quite solid and well shaped for dwarf stature. The head is shaped as apple; the ears are large, with slightly rounded tips. Dogs of this breed are framed in two varieties: with long hair and short hair. Chihuahua with long fur collar is rich and long yarn hair on the ears and the tail. The variety with short hair has a glossy fur, well attached to the body. In terms of colors, these include black, blue, white, red with white spots or dark.

Temperaments
Dogs of Chihuahua breed are very devoted and attaches usually only one in the family. Most specimens can be quite jealous in time for favorite person receiving care. They are very brave and protective of their owners. Enjoy a lot of attention. Chihuahuas are suspicious of outsiders and very good for security. Race is not recommended for families with young children or other pets for the quadruped are quite impulsive. However, Chihuahua dogs get along very well with specimens of the same race. When dogs feel threatened in the Chihuahua breed will not hesitate and try to bite. Because they are very stubborn, this quadruped can suffer from a conflict with a larger dog. Deviant behavior straightening is quite easy for these dogs respond well to training.

Features
Chihuahua is an ideal dog for apartment living in, not noisy. All movement needs a Chihuahua can do in the games. If these dogs, a coat is needed to wet and cold periods. Coat brushing must be done regularly than in the case of specimens with long hair. Chihuahuas live on average 15 years and females usually give birth within three chickens in a single task. Some of the most common health problems of Chihuahua dogs are non-closing complete of palate, excess water on the brain and incomplete development of the spinal cord.
